Preparing for your move to Stockholm

Tools:

Make sure you have a valid, up-to-date passport before travelling. If you’re planning to drive in Sweden make sure your driving licence is up to date. If you’ll be staying for a long time and intend to ship your belongings separately bear in mind that this can take time, so try to arrange an address in Sweden where you can send your things ahead of you.

You may want to save yourself a lot of time and trouble by sorting out your accommodation before leaving (see the appropriate sections for tips).

If you’re a European national and are going to Sweden with the intention of finding work there you should go to the local employment office in your home town before you leave. They will be in a position to advise you on finding employment in other EU/EEA countries.

Be sure to bring any prescription medications that you will need on your trip.
