The American International School of Johannesburg (AISJ) is an independent, coeducational, multi-racial day school which offers an educational program from PK through grade 12 for children of all nationalities residing in the Republic of South Africa. The School was founded in 1982. The school year comprises 2 semesters, extending from mid-August to mid-December and from mid-January to mid-June. Horizon International High School was founded in 2000. It enrolled 194 students in 2005. In the school premises there is also a dormitory which has a capacity of 40 learners. Mathematical and Scientific subjects are taught by Turkish teachers, Languages and Social Science subjects are the responsibility of South African educators. The school is located in Turffontein, Johannesburg, on the corner of Peter Wessels and Eastwood Streets.
