QatarPost or QPost provides postal services in Qatar.
Q-Post offers additional services, such as bill payments for utilities, e-government services, delivery of driver's licenses, direct delivery of items from your PO box to your home or office, and brochure distribution.
You can post letters in posting boxes. Q-Post has over 201 street posting boxes in Qatar. Letters are collected form 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
To receive mail in Qatar you must rent a PO Box at any Q-Post branch. To rent a PO box:
- Fill out an application form available at any Q-Post branch or online
- Enclose a copy of an identification document (copy of valid ID)
You will receive an electronic access card for PO Boxes in Q-Post's head office, and a key for boxes at all other Q-Post offices. You must pay a fee for PO box access. This is QR 360 for the first year (New box with electronic card) or QR 260 (New box with 3 keys) and a renewal fee of QR 300 (electronic card box) and QR 200 (key box) every year. Annual fees cover PO box service from January 1 to December 31 each year.
Q-Post offers an extensive electronic system that allows you to check the contents of your PO box online for free. It also has a mobile phone app to track packages and locate local post offices.
Postal Rates in Qatar
Postal rates for standard letter delivery in Qatar is QR 3.50, and QR 105 for parcels of up to 10 kg.
International postal rates vary by country. For example, to mail a letter to the United States (up to 20 g) costs QR 8.50. To mail a letter to the UAE costs QR 4.50.
For international parcel shipments, rates also vary by country. For the US the first kilogram costs QR 140, and every additional kilogram costs QR 90. To send parcels to the UAE the first kilogram costs QR 50, and every additional kilogram costs QR 5.

There are no postcodes or zip codes in Qatar. Mail is delivered via post office (P.O.) boxes.
