    Hello all,

I will be moving to Lisbon mid-January and looking to meet people who speak English, French, Spanish and German.

I'm aware it's pretty early, but if anyone knows of any jobs going that require multiple languages, I would appreciate it.

Hope to meet some of you in the new year. :)

  7. Hi folks,
I am just introducing myself ,
I am a semi retired skilled trades-an woman electrical & mechanical engineer from Tasmania Australia.

I was born in Ireland but left there when i was a young child.

I have been in Portugal for 6 weeks. I spend 1 month in the Algarve and have been in Porto now for 2 weeks. I bought L/H drive a car in UK and made the ling road trip here.

Regretfully i will be selling my car and will have to return to Au’s early due to family illness.

I had considered buying and old modest priced property here in Portugal and moving here but the climate is a bit too warm for me in summer. I have recently started to more so consider the south coast of England as a place to later settle i am undecided as yet,

    Kind regards to all

Hello @Skilledhanslady and welcome to EasyEpat.com
With global warming, all southern Europe is going to be warmer and warmer with more frequent heatwaves, so that's indeed something to consider.
Devon (and Cornwall, but that's the extreme west coast of England) have an excellent reputation that you might want to consider :)
Best of luck in your search and see you soon on the forums.

  9. Thank you Cyril[ yes i am considering those area’s if England in due course considering that England is so much more expensive than Portugal i will have to return back to work in Australia until the inevitable global recession causes significant drop in property prices.

For the present i will simply enjoy the rest of my stay in lovely Porto, at least until my car & excess belongings are sold.

    Kind regards

Hi, I'm new to the site. My name is Julie and my husband and I are looking to move to Portugal in the next year. We were contacted by a company called Atlantic Bridge. I wonder if anyone knows anything about them or if I need a company to help me get the paperwork done to move.

    Hi Julie,
    Welcome to the site
Atlantic Bridge is a common name for many companies. What do they do? They help you to settle in Portugal? Or is it a removal company?

    Hi Jamie,

Thanks for your response. The company is called Atlantic Bridge Consulting and Investment. As far as I can tell, its primary purpose is to assist people wanting to move to Europe with relocation and visa applications. It looks like they can also help find investment properties.

I'm unsure of how to proceed, so I'm trying to ensure this company is legit and not a scam.

    Thanks,
    Julie

There is e-residence also providing Portuguese NIF online. You can compare.
Whatever service you use, be careful to hidden charges ;-)

Is there somewhere I can check to be sure Atlantic Bridge Finance and Consulting is a valid business in good standing?
