    Both employees and employers in China pay contributions to the Social Security scheme. These are used to fund healthcare, state pensions, unemployment benefit and other state benefits.

    You may be able to continue paying social security contributions in your home country. If this option is available to you, it is advisable do so in order to preserve your right to a full EU state pension, for example.
