    To obtain " Social Security Number ", contact Social Security Administration on http://www.ssa.gov or by consulting the white pages, in the pages of the Government, in the section " United States Government Offices ", column " Social Security Administration ". To know the closest office of your residence (there is around thirty in the bay), phone : ( 800 ) 772-1213 or ( 510 ) 970-8430.

    It will be necessary to present your passport, your American visa and the form I 94 delivered with the visa and be endorsed by the officer of immigration during your entrance to the USA.

    Be careful not to reveal your Social Security number, as it gives access to numerous information about your private life.
