    In California there are quite a few international schools to choose from, especially for French and British nationals.

    Nursery Schools or Pre-schools

    From 2 years old. Verify that the school is approved by the NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children - Phone : 800 - 424 - on 2460 or http://www.naeyc.org)

    To learn about the schools of your district, please look in the Phone directory under School districts (blank pages, pink border ) under the name of your district. You can also contact County Offices:

    Tuition and Fees
    For private schools, you should budget between $7200 and 12500 per year for day tuition. Prices vary depending on age of pupil. There are additional charges such as for example school transportation school meals, uniforms, and books.
    French Lycée 2002-2003 - example:

    • Preschool (Part-time K1 in Corte Madera) $7,300 +$150 for activities (Tee-Shirt, trips...)
    • Preschool through Kindergarten :$10,975 +$150
    • 1st Grade through 5th Grade $ 11,525 +$225
    • 6th Grade through 9th Grade $ 12,185 +$275
    • 10th Grade through 12th Grade $ 13,365 +$275

    In addition you will add $100 for application and $900 for registration.

    University

    Public :

    • University of California ( UC Berkeley, UC San Francisco, UC San Jose … )
    • California State University

    Private :

    • Stanford, University of San Francisco …
