    Some of the main theatres for English movies are listed below.

    Cinema Muenchen is by far the best known and most popular English cinema in Munich. The cinema only has one hall, but it is fairly large and has an excellent quality sound system. Nearly every film shown here is in the original language, i.e. English. They do sometimes show other foreign films, usually with German subtitles.

    Mathäser : This is the most modern cinema in Munich right now. Blockbusters are shown on 14 screens, there are cafés, bars and a lounge. One or two films are shown in English every week. Sneak preview night is Wednesday night. Tickets can be booked online.

    Museum Lichtspiele: Located next to the Deutsches Museum, between S-Bahn stations Rosenheimer Platz and Isartor, this small, snug old style cinema shows blockbusters as well as art films. All films are shown in their original version.

    Neues Arena: This is a snug little cinema in the trendy borough of Glockenbachviertel, thus close to various bars and cafés. English films are always shown in the original version with German subtitles. Tel.: +49 (0)89 260 32 65
