When working and/or living abroad, it is usually necessary to pay taxes in that country.

Do you pay taxes in Nepal? What are the main types of taxes (direct and indirect taxes)? What is the tax rate? Do you consider taxes high, low, or fair?

Is it necessary to report at certain times of the year in Nepal? Are taxes deducted at the source?

Are there any dual tax agreements between Nepal and your country?

Thank you for sharing your tips, questions and advice!

    Hi Texkourgan,

I know it is been a long time since you posted this. I am traveling to work as expat in Kathmandu next February and I am kind of lost about the income tax. I was wondering if you finally worked in Nepal and if you can share if there is any income tax and how much. I need to know this because as an expat, I would only pay this tax in one country. One of the conditions to be exempted in Spain is if Nepal has one similar income tax.

    Thank you very much
    Michel

Do you mean that Spain as got Universal tax system (like with the US, you have to fill a tax form every year and they compare with their own tax)?
If you work in the UAE for example, where there is no tax.
In the article about taxes in Spain they say:
So it matters if you work in Nepal as a resident or not (staying more than 182 days).
