    Hi, Everyone

First of all, I would like to congratulate fot this website with a lot of useful information.
It's my first post here and I will carry on updating regarding my future move in Zagreb in a few month.
I have to face an issue with one agent : Home in Zagreb

I and 2 foreigners students we were exptected to move in Zagreb in October this year, for a course. We started to look around and arranged with the agent a flat of 3 bedrooms at end of July/ beginning of August 2016 for an initial starting date in October and made the deposit and fees payement to them.
We got a message a few day later that our course will be postponed by January 2017. I informed the agent the same day about it and asked to postpone our booking for January and if not find another place on that time.
They told us that it's not possible as they already made the deposit payment to the landlord.
We didn't get any lease agreement with T&C, I didn't sign anything. They just send us this link to fill in : https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIp ... A/viewform).
    Booking Process : http://www.homeinzagreb.com/booking/

They told us that they spoke with the landlord and the only way to get back our deposit is to rent from October as notified on initial email. It seems to me as a blackmail.
I am looking for feedback, legal advice on my case.
    1) We didn't receive & sign any lease agreement.
2)We don't know the identity of the landlord
    3) I found this as notified is not official but would like to know if it's relevant : http://pak.hr/cke/propisi,%20zakoni/en/ ... tement.pdf
    Croatian website : http://www.zakon.hr/z/168/Zakon-o-najmu-stanova
    4) We didn't receive & sign any lease agreement. as notifed on the link above. The contract should be written & signed by a leasee. We didn't do that at all.

Do you think that it's not normal and should sue them?

Thanks in advance for your help and feedback. I will keep updating in future about my stay and share my experience. So far, it didn't start well lol.

    Regards,

    Hi jazz1234,
Is is certainly a very good practice to first sign an agreement, this gives you protection and a clean start.

How did it go at the end?
I hope you managed to find a good solution.

    Regards,
    Danijel
