The Guide to Shanghai is a great resource for moving to the city. You can also chat with expats in shanghai through the network, or expat blogs.

Anyone else have tips or information? Is there a reason you want to move to Shanghai?

I just did an internship in Shanghai with BMW and it was quite interesting. They pay as well, but you have to stay at least for three months. It seems to have recently got more difficult with the visas and the HR department was not sure how the program will continue. My program was organized via www.livethelanguage.cn/internship-in-china/ and they organized the Chinese visa and accommodation as well.
Go to Shanghai it is a great city!

    Hello Schlangengrube,

It's an old post but here I am... How did you find the internship? Was it directly through contacts in BMW ? Or was it on the chinese website?

Thanks again for sharing your experience and see you soon on the forum

Expect long hours and no (or very little) pay...This is just what I have noticed for foreigner summer internships.
