    Re: looking for info cost of living in holland

    I found a few things on the Internet to give some indications.

    Flat ~45sqm (big 1-bedroom or small 2-bedrooms) = € 900 /month
    Restaurant = € 20
    Coffee = € 2
    Beer = € 4
    Taxi 20 minutes = € 20
    Cigarettes = € 5.20
    Bread = € 1.50
    Cinema ticket = € 8.50

    Anyone has got other examples ? (flats, transport, taxes...etc)

    :arrow: Food (what to expect, what to find).
    Any food you can think of from european to asian foods many different restaurants availible.
    Supermarkets offer european style foods and less asian foods but there are special toko's and area's for your asian food supplies in any mayor city.

    :arrow: Accommodation price in Netherlands. Rent?
    rooms should be availible for rent from 300+ eur if you need a house start thinking about 800+ for a private sector rental home.

    :arrow: Transport

    A 1 hour ticket is availible with the driver of a bus/tram and costs arround 3-5 eur depending on the bus company your traveling with.

    Its cheaper to buy a month or year subscription prices vary depending on how many zones you need to travel trough.

    Example amsterdam 2 zones is going to cost you aprox 80 EUR a month. Or you could buy a ov chipcard (chipcard used for public transport) which you need to top up at topup machines arround stations.

    Depending on how many stops you travel this would cost you anywhere from 1-2 eur everytime you take a bus, tram, metro to your destination.

    More information and subscription pricing can be found here:
    https://www.ov-chipkaart.nl/home-1.htm

    Train fees are pretty expensive and start from 5-6 EUR for a ride like Amsterdam to Schiphol Airport. Subscriptions are cheaper take a look here:
    http://www.ns.nl/en/travellers/home

    Gasoline costs are pretty high in the Netherlands because of taxes...

    Euro 95 1.60 eur 1 liter
    diesel 1.30 eur 1 liter

    Check latest prices here: http://www.cijfernieuws.nl/benzine/

    Road taxes for owning a car depend on weight of the car and where your located in The Netherlands
    Road tax calculator: http://www.belastingdienst.nl/rekenhulp ... belasting/

    Insurance depends on value of the car and how long you have been driving without any insurance claims.

    2nd hand cars can be found as cheap as 1000 EUR but don't expect much for that price ofcourse. New cars start arround 10.000 EUR at the dealership.

    :arrow: Services (gaz, electricity, telephone, internet...)
    Should be arround 50-100 eur a month for gaz, electricity,
    sometimes this is included with the rental fee of a home/room.

    Internet 20 eur+ depending on the speed you choose

    telephone subscriptions 20-40 eur
    prepaid phone cards cost 10 eur for each topup card includes. 3g internet

    :arrow: Tax
    6% on food and 21% on luxury items

    Income tax a year (depending on height of salary) example 2015

    disc 1 € 0 t/m € 19.822 36,50%
    disc 2 € 19.822 t/m € 33.589 42%
    disc 3 € 33.589 t/m € 57.585 42%
