Hello and welcome! Buying property abroad can be quite intimidating, even if you have lived in Berlin as an expat for years! Some questions you may have… Can a foreigner buy property in Berlin? If so, is it complicated? What is the process for purchasing property? Is there anything a foreign buyer should be especially aware of? Have you been through the process? What advice can you give to other expats in Berlin looking to buy - either a home or an investment property? Do you have a check-list or tips you can provide? Thanks for sharing!
Hi Texkourgan, buying a property is not that intimidating if you don't need a bank loan. The biggest barrier is that the main websites for searching are only in German. Find someone who advises you through the process (like my company does that) and you will be fine. In general it is the right time to buy a property in Berlin. The money is cheap and prices are increasing. The two areas I recommend are Mitte and Kreuzberg. Depends on what you want the property for.
