To secure an internship aboard, it is usually necessary to find a company that sets-up the internship. Internships are commonly set-up through a university for its students.
There are some opportunities for students to participate in internship program in Kuwait. However, many of the programs, particularly Kuwaiti businesses and companies, are specifically geared towards Kuwaiti nationals, not foreigners.
There are no online search engines advertising specifically for Kuwait Internships. A search of specific businesses may lead applicants to the best results. Well established banks, telecoms, real estate, IT companies, insurance companies and oil and gas industries may offer programs to eligible students.
Universities, especially local ones (GUST, American University Kuwait, Australian College of Kuwait, Kuwait University) also offer programs for their respective students.
The American Embassy Kuwait offers Internship programs (excluding American citizens) to highly qualified candidates.

The old saying, "it's not what you know, but who you know" certainly applies for Interns. Socializing with those already in the company or business, volunteering for projects or simply involving yourself in every aspect of the company or organization can increase your chances of getting recognized by others. One contact leads to another and another and before long; you'll have created yourself a rolodex of personal references to use to your advantage later on.
