A private company, Magyar Posta, runs the postal services in Hungary. Post offices are open Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. with some offices open later. The two main post offices in Budapest are located near the Nyugati (Western) and the Keleti (Eastern) Railway Stations and are open for longer including weekends. Mail Services in Hungary

The Magyar Posta offers a variety of national and international postal services for letters, packages and express mail. Items can be tracked online allowing customers to see the whereabouts of the package or letter.

You can register for a P.O. box at a post office near your home or work. If allowed, you can send and receive mail from your apartment or home in Budapest.

The Magyar Posta is able to redirect mail for a fee. The service can be arranged at any post office by filling out a form.

Main offices also have basic banking services.
