Landline/Fixed Phone Line

Landlines are extremely rare in Ghana. Most people operate exclusively with a cell phone.

Vodaphone is the main provider of landlines. To obtain one, you will need to complete an application form, show proof of identity, proof of address and your visa/permit. You can chose either a pre-paid or post-paid option, and some will include options for internet service as well.

Public Phones

Public phones are extremely difficult to come by in Ghana.

Skype, Google and other ways to connect

If you establish a strong internet connection in your home, you may want to consider other ways of connecting.

If using services like Skype or FaceTime from your phone, be sure to keep an eye on your data usage. Often, these services will eat up your credit quite quickly, making them surprisingly expensive ways of communicating.
