Rent house or flat

In order to find a flat or a house you can prospect different way:

- Through real estate agents directly. In suburbs they are situated near the train station and in big cities they are everywhere. Just take a look at the area you want to live in and go to the closer agency.
- Through newspapers. Each town/city has it's own and advertises on 1 or 2 specific days a week (Saturdays are popular).
- Word of mouth and local bill-boards.

Most flats/houses are unfurnished. The minimum lease for a flat is 6 months and for a house it is 12 months.

aholidayhouse.com
my friend actually put me onto this site, they used it for a holiday rental up the coast but they also have some great short stay alternatives in the big cities so it can be a cheaper alternative when you first get here.

It is easy to use and gives you direct contact details and websites in most cases as well. I highly recommend it

Short term fully furnished flats/houses Sydney/Australia-wid
I found rentahome.com.au a great service when relocating to Sydney. They have an extensive choice and good service. Multiple prices on place form just a single request makes searching a lot easier than multiple searches.
Booking was straight forward and I would recommend them. www.rent-a-home.com.au
